British Sugar recruits Annabelle Lloyd for new top sales role

British Sugar, the leading supplier of sugar to the food & drink industry, has reaffirmed its position as a customer-focussed business with the appointment of Annabelle Lloyd as Director of Sales.

“This new role puts our customers’ needs first, at a time of enormous change for the sugar industry,” says Commercial Director, Derek Morgan. “Annabelle brings exactly the right commitment, talent and experience for a customer-led business such as British Sugar.”

“My focus will be to maintain the excellent and comprehensive service we provide to our customers and ensure they have the best products supplied in the most efficient way,” says Annabelle Lloyd. “British Sugar already knows its customers well, but I’ll be making sure we are maximising our effectiveness. It’s all about developing our strengths and matching those strengths to our customers’ needs.”

Annabelle joins the company at a time when it is putting unprecedented effort into new product development. “As well as further developing the excellent products we already have, we will be ensuring that new products match customers’ requirements,” she says. ”British Sugar’s technical expertise is immense. How we use it will be driven by our customers.”

She joins British Sugar from Corus Strip Products, where she most recently spent four years as commercial manager. Annabelle’s experience includes sales and marketing, supply chain management, information technology and the finance function. “With reform of the EU’s sugar regime set to trigger far-reaching changes in the sector, Annabelle’s appointment is part of our strategy for ensuring we offer our customers the service they need, for the long-term,” says Derek Morgan.
