Guidance on Applying
LimeX

LimeX is an agricultural liming product and is not specifically subject to the revised NVZ guidance or regulatory enforcement. Currently, only general guidance exists for the responsible environmental management of liming products within the CoGAP 2009 (see Section 5.6 432-435 incl).

The following is our guidance on environmentally compliant on-farm application of LimeX:

Avoid field applications under the following conditions:

waterlogged
flooded
snow covered
frozen for more than 12 hours in the previous 24 hours

In addition, spreading should be as accurate as possible and not within 2 metres of any surface water.

Remember: It is the responsibility of the occupier of the land to consider making a pre-application field inspection to assess risk of run-off to surface water; and to record all field applications and nutrient contribution within the nutrient management plan.
